The RCS Science Fair, held on February 10th, was a great success. The PreK - 4th grade classes as well as the 5th graders displayed their projects for the event. The 7th and 8th graders presented their findings to multiple judges — all members of the local scientific community. These projects were the culmination of more than a year’s worth of work which included: researching a question, testing a hypothesis, analyzing the results, and encapsulating their work visually and orally.
After speaking with students and discussing the presentations, the judges worked together to determine the top projects in each category. We’re proud to present the results for the 2022 Redeemer Science Fair:
Chemistry and Physics
1st Place Cale Allen
2nd Place Riley Scheidt**
3rd Place Chloe Ladner
Earth and Environmental Science
1st Place Qedus Yared**
2nd Place Anna Richardson
3rd Place Caleb Cain**
Health and Medicine
1st Place Ava Hughes**
2nd Place Anna Kosalka**
3rd Place Jonathan Eller**
Student projects were evaluated for:
Proper understanding and use of the scientific method
Thoroughness of research and experimental testing
Skill and complexity
Clarity of overall presentation
Creativity
Many thanks to our judges for giving of their time an expertise and doing such a thorough job. Congratulations to all of the students who completed a project and best of luck to those going on to the Regional Fair.
** These six students will go on to compete at the Shenandoah Valley Regional Science and Engineering Fair, conducted by JMU and held virtually on March 26th and 27th.
