It is hard for me to express the joy that I get from hearing the sounds of students on the playground, in the hallways, and in the classroom. I spent a lot of time at school this summer with the construction project upstairs in full swing. While that project brought its own unique chorus of noises, it doesn’t hold a candle to the sound of students laughing, singing, and conversing together.
Just this morning I was in the third grade classroom as students were singing together the song, All People that on Earth do Dwell. It was a beautiful sound! It raised my spirits and I’ve been humming it to myself since. What a blessing to be a part of such a vibrant learning community, where students not only learn, but enjoy learning! May we never lose sight of how important — and how unique — that truly is.
As the 2019-20 school year gets underway, I pray the Lord’s richest blessings on you all. May you find joy, peace, wisdom, and grace in abundance throughout the year.
