The Rookery addition (which will be our Logic School building when it’s done) has made quite a bit of progress recently. What a blessing to see it all taking shape! On Monday, December 16th, the 5th-8th grade students (as well as faculty and staff) conducted ceremonies throughout the day to thank God for His provision and to dedicate the building to His use.
Each group began with a reading from Deuteronomy 6:4-9 to gain some understanding as to the reason for honoring the Lord in this way:
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
Mr. Cosner talked with the students about Israel’s time in the wilderness and the importance of remembering the Lord once they settled in the promised land. Afterward, everyone dispersed throughout the building — equipped with Sharpies and their verses — to write scripture on the exposed studs and doorposts. The group came back together and prayed for God’s blessing on all the activities and people that would gather in the future classrooms and hallways they’d just inscribed with the word of God.
What a blessing to know that behind the insulation, drywall, and paint, the Logic School itself will be clothed in the word of God for as long as the building stands. Soli Deo Gloria.
