From the Head of School
Giving thanks for God’s work

It’s time again for us to publish our Annual Report and share it with you, our faithful supporters. Every year, I enjoy looking back and highlighting these numbers and snapshots with you — what an opportunity to see God’s tangible work in our school community. God has given us many blessings over the years, and they are manifest in numerous ways: In the form of stories of God’s faithfulness in and through his people, in the changes and upgrades that have taken place on our campus, and in the pages of this 2020-21 Annual Report. So, without further ado, let me share just some of these abundant blessings with you.

Enrollment has continued to grow. In 2020-21 we welcomed a record 151 students to campus. Furthermore, we welcomed 9th graders to school for the first time in history in the 2020-21 school year.
We continue to improve our campus through renovations. In 2020-21 we renovated the former cannery building to add two classrooms for our new Rhetoric School. We also built an open-air Pavilion so we could safely hold music and other fine arts classes outside.

In December of 2020, the Board of Directors adopted a new five-year strategic plan with focus areas in finance, enrollment and marketing, facilities, teaching and learning, and community and culture. We are in the process of completing that strategic plan step-by-step, and will continue to do so over the next four years.

In April of 2021 we had an incredibly successful Great Community Give — raising a record $39,721 from 358 unique donors (plus $6,750 in prizes)!

We completed the entire school year with every student in class every day while many local schools were meeting virtually.

With all of this — and much more — in mind, I want to say THANK YOU for supporting Redeemer Classical School. Whether it is with time, financial resources, a helping hand, a word of encouragement, and/or prayer, you all have given so much to our school community. For that we express our deepest gratitude. I pray that you would be encouraged as you read through this year’s Annual Report. God is working in beautiful ways on our campus each and every day. I hope that you see that reflected here and join with me in giving thanks and praise to God.

The Numbers

Not everyone loves numbers like we do, but they can tell a very compelling story. Within their digits you can see some of the blessings we’ve experienced — as well as the challenges we face — as a school. We’ve highlighted a few of the more interesting numbers below for you.

Income (total = $1,256,069)

We bring in the bulk of our income from tuition and fees (e.g. extracurriculars), but you can see that just tuition does not cover all of our costs. Each year we raise a significant amount — through the generosity of donors like you — to help bridge the gap between tuition income and operating expenses.

Expenses (total = $1,158,973)

If you look at our expenses you’ll quickly see that the vast majority of our outlay goes toward faculty and staff — the amazing professionals that make Redeemer so special. We could talk about their training and experience (together they boast an average of over 15 years in the classroom), but it’s their faith, character, dedication and passion that truly sets them apart.

Your gifts to Redeemer’s ANNUAL FUND goes directly to making a high-quality classical and Christian education possiblible for all of our students.

Looking forward

Our enrollment continues to grow (and much faster than we anticipated) and our grade level offerings continue to expand as we work towards a complete PK-12th grade program. As such, we’ll need to hire more teachers and add to our existing facilities to accommodate everyone. There’s much to be done, but there’s no limit to what we can accomplish with the Lord’s blessing.
