RCS Students Earn Seven Awards at the 2018 Regional Science Fair

Congratulations to the six students who represented Redeemer Classical School at the Shenandoah Valley Regional Science Fair held on March 6th at James Madison University. Josie Brumfield, Madeleine Dunaway, Jeremiah Esteban, Josiah Leach, Henry Matter, and Virginia Velker were the top finishers at our school science fair, and went on to compete against students from schools throughout the Shenandoah Valley.

Our students came home with seven awards!

Josie Brumfield won the American Water Works Association 2nd place junior award (with a cash prize of $100!) for her project about water quality in the North River.

Jeremiah Esteban won the Bronze award for his project in the category of Health and Medicine.

Josiah Leach won the Bronze award for his project in the Physics and Astronomy category.

Henry Matter won the Silver award in the Energy and Transportation category.

Virginia Velker won the Gold award for her project in the category of Engineering. Virginia also won the Office of Naval Research Naval Science Award, and as one of the top ten projects at the fair, she was nominated for the Broadcom Masters competition in Washington D.C.

We're so proud of the work all Redeemer students put into their science fair projects and how well these six students represented our school.
